"YOUR BLUES AIN'T LIKE MINE", is clearly my personal favorite. Alvin sings his heart out on this one and he does so like it's supposed to be done. It's a very slow, soulful ballad and he nails it. Once again, Frank blows some scorching sax with a tone unlike anything I've ever heard before and Alvin's guitar work on this one is right up there with his vocals. This has to be one of their most requested songs, especially by the slow dancers. I could listen to stuff like this all night long."

 Ayanna & The Soulmates - "Looking For A Home Too"

"Usually I shy away from the R&B style of the blues and stay more focused on the real mainstream blues. Yet, during the several listens that I give a CD before making the final decision, each listen of "LOOKING FOR A HOME TOO", caused me to listen closer the next time. Ultimately, I was able to put the "style preference" behind me and when I did, what I heard was nothing short of shear excellence... Throughout the CD, AYANNA'S vocals are one of it's highlights. Her voice is so strong, commanding and articulate that you can't help but think she could carry the song without a microphone. It didn't surprise me one bit when I read in her bio that she has an operatic 4.5 Octave vocal range and that she performed in many musical theater productions."

"SOFT SPOT (FOR A HARD HEADED WOMAN)" Is one of this discs many highlights. Be it JOHN or LEONARD, the lead vocals on this one, as well as all of the other tracks, are outstanding. LEONARD'S burning guitar solos and RICHARD'S mastery at the piano make this one stand out."

 Jimmy Bowskill - "Soap Bars & Dog Ears"

"On the original opening track "LINK INTO YOUR CHAIN" and the John Lee Hooker cover "HUG YOU", which immediately follows it, JIMMY BOWSKILL quickly establishes himself as singer and player. For an adolescent, he has an unusually natural blues voice and his delivery is equal to the style of a seasoned veteran."

 The Breeze Kings - "You Got To Bring Some To Get Some"

"The bands musical ability stretches beyond their voices and instruments. Nine of the fourteen tracks are very well written originals..
"MOTHER IN LAW BLUES" and "CUT YOU DOWN", (the ninth original) are two serious blues tracks. The first being pure straight up Chicago blues with phenomenal harp solos and great slide guitar. The second one is all about the vocals and the horns. This one was very reminiscent of the old Roomful of Blues stuff. These two tracks are what the blues is all about."

 Lady Bianca - "All By Myself"

"LADY BIANCA'S musical mood swings are quite eclectic. She is sometimes poetic and melodic, sometimes times charismatic and chaotic and other times just outright sarcastic and neurotic. The styles in which she delivers her songs are as equally diverse as her moods. Regardless if she is just plain 'saying' it or soulfully 'singing' it or downright 'screaming' it, they all seem to work well for her. All of this constant change and lack of stagnation are apparent in her piano playing as well. There's an excellent mixture of some down in the alley with a bit of barrel house and a whole lot of boogie woogie."

"The title track "SONG INSIDE ME", gave me chills. I could listen to twelve tracks like this and love every minute of it. This song is what Michele is all about - a powerful vocalist that commands attention. The blues gets belted out at it's best on this track. The instrumental break features lots of great organ playing by Ben Moore..."
